3rd Annual DDMT Golf Tournament at Huntercombe Golf Club
The third annual golf day took place at Huntercombe GC, near Henley-upon-Thames on Tuesday 9 April 2013. As before it was a 4-ball stableford with shot gun start. The players arrived about 8am in pouring rain but they were not dispirited. Michael Groves fired the canon to start the competition at 9am. The rain continued for about 6 holes and then, as if by a miracle, it stopped and a good round was enjoyed by all. We didn’t see the bluebells this year because of the late cold weather but the kites were keeping watch overhead.
After drinks and an excellent lunch, James Amos conducted the prizegiving with Colette Dalzell presenting the prizes. The first prize, including the Salver, was won by Nat Kerr (who was part of the winning team in the 1st tournament) and Angus Dalzell with 43 points, the second prize was won by Peter Jennings and Paul Over and the third prize was won by Richard Grieveson and Jane Naylor-Leyland.
It was a great day with over £6,500 raised for the DDMT.
