July 2015: £10,000 grant to Canine Partners

DDMT are proud to announce a £10,000 donation to Canine Partners to fund the initial training of a dog to be partnered to an ex-service individual.

As the name suggests these dogs are trained to support and provide companionship to disabled people including members of wounded and sick members of HM Forces.  The work they do is incredible, the training exceptional and the rewards are tremendous.  We are very excited about this collaboration and will keep in touch with the development of the DDMT dog.  £10,000 pays for puppy training and advanced puppy training (14 to 20 months).  Thereafter another £10,000 is needed to train an individual to train, work with and care for their assistance dog and for on-going support for the rest of their working life together.

Canine Partners have assured us that the remaining £10,000 needed will be allocated from their general funds. We will post more about this exciting venture once a dog has been identified but in the meantime please visit the Canine Partners websiteCanine Partners logo
