The DDMT is extremely proud to have committed £5000 per annum for the next three years to the First Steps programme set up by Walking with the Wounded.
First steps has been specifically designed to provide new qualifications, enhanced training and vocational skills to support the journey into employment for those leaving the Armed Forces disadvantaged by mental or physical injury. It also aims to inspire employers to recognise the inherent qualities of our service men and women and to show how they face the future with the same courage and determination they showed on the front line.
Six injured veterans embark on the Walk of Britain on August 22nd for Walking with the Wounded. These veterans will have walked 1000 miles, scaled four peaks, pass through 150 towns and cities and burn 1,440,000 calories by the time they reach Buckingham Palace on November 1st. If you see them give them a shout - the DDMT certainly will be.
